Tso Kar Lake is not as popular as the other nearby lakes, such as Pangong and Tso Moriri. That's exactly why you should visit it, for an undisturbed feeling or knowing that no one else has been there before. The lake is close to the Leh-Manali Highway and offers great views, with opportunities for photography. Nearby, you'll also find a great place to just sit back and enjoy nature. Tso Kar is a salt lake located in the Rupshu Valley, in Southeastern Ladakh. It gives the appearance of being an entirely “white lake” when seen from a distance. It is located about 50 kilometers away from another salt lake called Tso Moriri which is also located in the region.
For nature lovers, the Loveland Lakes provide a wonderful and picturesque environment to enjoy. With an abundance of hiking trails and views, visitors can soak in all the beauty that this expansive body of water provides. Some of the most common birds to be seen around the lake include Brahmi Ducks, bar-headed geese, and great crested grebe, with blacked-necked cranes visiting specifically for egg-laying.
The best time to visit the Tso Kar Lake is April-October.
